Museum Minute: Museum Shop

Reckonings and Reconstruction Audio Tour

Opened in 1989, the Museum Shop has been providing visitors with a way to take something home with them for more than three decades. In this holiday season, it’s a great place to find unique and fun art-related gifts for everyone on your list that also benefit the museum, and there’s even free parking for shop customers underneath the museum’s building, accessible off Carlton Street.

Come check out museum logo items, including high-quality etched glassware, natural canvas totes, stickers, beanies to keep your head warm, holiday ornaments that feature an intricate cut-out of the museum’s building and Yeti tumblers in a wide variety of colors. Fisher Space Pens, which write upside down, underwater or over grease, are great for crossword enthusiasts and feature the museum’s monogram in brass. Cup of Inspiration, the museum’s brand-new coffee with Jittery Joe’s, is sure to spark some creativity.

If you have small folks in your life, you can pick up artist-designed temporary tattoos, board books, Mad Mattr modeling sand and cool art supplies and kits. Select some artist-made jewelry, a fancy scarf, a colorful felt bag or a hand-blown glass vase for yourself or someone else. The inventory is always changing, and much of it is now online at Georgia museum shop dot my shopify dot com, with free shipping when you spend 75 dollars.

Remember, Friend + Annual Fund Members at the Reciprocal level and above ($125+ annually) receive a 10 percent discount in the Museum Shop. You can become one at jointhemuseum.com.
