This is the Calidore String Quartet. They're one of the most promising young chamber ensembles in the United States. On Sunday, Oct. 13, they're playing Beethoven at Hodgson Concert Hall. The outer works on their program are with Venezuelan pianist and composer Gabriela Montero. Together they'll perform Shostakovich's boisterous Piano Quintet. But the highlight of the program is Montero's Canaima, a new quintet commissioned by the UGA Performing Arts Center and a consortium of other organizations.
