Sometimes heat comes from the coldest places. Russian-Israeli violinist Maxim Vengerov grew up in Siberia, where he was spotted as an emerging virtuoso at an early age. Now 50, Vengerov has a sound and a career that are the envy of many a fiddler. He appears November 15 at Hodgson Concert Hall with pianist Polina Osetinskaya. Their program includes this sonata by Prokofiev. They'll also play music by Cesar Franck and Maurice Ravel.
