Atlanta Symphony Orchestra: Handel's Messiah

An orchestra and choir perform on a decorated concert hall stage for a holiday production, surrounded by Christmas trees, garlands, and poinsettias as a audience watches.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

It isn't Christmas in Athens until the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Chorus perform Handel's Messiah at Hodgson Concert Hall. The ensembles return December 18th with the joyous Christmas portion of the epic work.

Before "Messiah," ASO chorusmaster Norman Mackenzie conducts Mozart's resplendent "Coronation" Mass. It's a celebratory piece that is believed to have been performed at various coronations in the decades after its composition in 1779.
