UGA Presents
Hoachen Zhang

Every four years, the piano world turns its attention to Fort Worth, Texas, where the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition has been rewarding artistry and tenacity since 1962. In 2009, the committee awarded a gold medal to 19-year-old Chinese pianist Haochen Zhang, supercharging a career that has only gone up since.

Zhang has captivated audiences in the United States, Europe, and Asia with a unique combination of deep musical sensitivity, fearless imagination, and spectacular virtuosity. In 2017, he received the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes talented musicians with the potential for a major solo career in classical music. His UGA Presents debut showcases his talents on an all-Beethoven/Schumann program.
