Jordi Savall, Hespèrion XXI, and La Capella Reial de Catalunya

A gray-haired musician holding a bowed string instrument.
UGA Presents
Jordi Savall

For more than 50 years, conductor and viola da gamba virtuoso Jordi Savall has unearthed vivid, intriguing music from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Wednesday, April 8th, he returns to Hodgson Concert Hall with a troupe of singers, players and dancers to explore his latest project, Songs, Battles, and Dances from the Old and the New Worlds, 1100-1780. This program shines a light on more than 600 years of music of endurance and resistance from Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

The concert includes spirituals, early European sacred music and pieces from late 18th century Peru played and sung by artists from Europe and the Americas. For tickets to Jordi Savall at Ramsey Concert Hall, visit PAC.UGA.EDU, or call the box office at (706) 542-4400.
