The Del McCoury Band

Five men in suits pose with string instruments, including a guitar, banjo, mandolin, violin and upright bass.
UGA Presents
The Del McCoury Band

For more than 60 years, Del McCoury has embodied the spirit of bluegrass. In the early 1960s, he played and sang with Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys, and now he tours with his own sons in the Del McCoury Band. They're appearing at Hodgson Concert Hall May 15th.

Even among the pantheon of music’s finest, Del McCoury stands alone. From the nascent sound of bluegrass that charmed hardscrabble hillbilly honky-tonks, rural schoolhouse stages, and the crowning glory of the Grand Ole Opry, to the present day’s digital revolution, Del is the living link. In his sixth decade onstage, he continues to endear himself to a whole new generation of fans. One listen and it’s crystal clear why: There’s only one Del.

For tickets to the Del McCoury Band at Hodgson Concert Hall, visit PAC.UGA.EDU, or call the box office at (706) 542-4400.
