Georgia Health Report: Higher ACA premiums lead to delaying care for some adults

Coming up on the Georgia Health Report, adults 50 to 64 have seen some of the biggest increases in Obamacare insurance costs since the expiration of enhanced federal help to pay for plans. That’s pushing some to consider putting off seeing the doctor until they turn 65 and qualify for Medicare. I’m your host, Emma Auer, and today, I’m joined by Sam Whitehead, a reporter based in Atlanta with KFF Health News.

Emma Auer is an award-winning reporter who joined WUGA as a full-time producer in 2024. She is also a graduate student in UGA's Romance Languages Department, studying French and Spanish. She covers the breadth of Northeast Georgia stories, from Athens City Hall to Winterville farmers' markets. Emma's work has also been heard on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
