Athens News Matters: Anumantha Kanthasamy Appointed as First John H. Isakson Chair

Internationally recognized Parkinson’s researcher and future University of Georgia professor Anumantha Kanthasamy was appointed as the first John H. "Johnny" Isakson Chair and Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in Parkinson’s Research.

Currently, Kanthasamy is Distinguished Professor and Lloyd Endowed Chair and Eminent Scholar at Iowa State University. He’s here with me today to talk about his new title as well as his Parkinson's research.

Martin Matheny is WUGA's Program Director and a host and producer of our local news program 'Athens News Matters.' He started at WUGA in 2012 as a part-time classical music host and still hosts WUGA's longest-running local program 'Night Music' which is heard on WUGA and GPB Classical. He lives in Normaltown with his wife, Shaye and dog, Murphy.
