Job seekers will have plenty of employment opportunities this week Officials with the Georgia Department of Labor are being joined by representatives from Amazon in an effort to fill hundreds of positions. The company is hiring between 700 and 1,000 warehouse workers for Amazon's new distribution center in Jackson County. Career Centers in Athens and Gainesville will host the events, which are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, June 12th and 13th from 9 am until 4 pm at both locations. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma, or General Education Diploma (GED).
