Additional Free Screenings of Athens Documentary During AthFest

coe.uga.edu

AthFest gets underway this weekend and Cine is offering a look at what’s become an instant classic.

Cine is offering four additional screenings of the documentary “Athens in Our Lifetimes” during this upcoming AthFest weekend. The film shows the history of how Athens became the city it is today. Co-producers Grady Thrasher and Kathy Prescott say they are pleased with the reception.

“We’re just so happy that people get what we were trying to say in the movie, talking about Athens history and what makes Athens special," according to Prescott. "The response has really been a surprise to us, but we are honored and grateful.”

The showings are free, but attendees are encouraged to reserve tickets online at athenscine.com

Showtimes are Friday at 7 pm, Saturday 3 and 7 pm and Sunday at 3 pm. Those attending are encouraged to make donations to help support Cine.
