WUGA is resuming its Artist in Residence series this Saturday by featuring two artists, textile designer and screenprinter Sara Parker and her husband photographer Simon Hunt.
“I’ve always enjoyed making patterns and repeat patterns, and printing on fabric is such a different feel than printmaking on paper,” according to Parker. “One thing that’s so awesome about it is you can use the fabric afterward.”
Hunt explains his style.
“I do a lot of landscape type photography, although I don’t necessarily go for sweeping vistas, I tend to go for more minimalist kind of stylized things,” Hunt said.
The event runs from 3 to 5 pm at the artists’ home. It’s $10 for friends of WUGA and $15 for others. For more information, email Abbie Thaxton at thaxtona@uga.edu.
