Suspect Arrested in Connection with Wife's Death in Athens' Hotel

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department says the man wanted in connection with the shooting death of his wife in an Athens hotel is now in custody. Alexander Devanna was arrested Sunday in Ocala, Florida. Police issued an arrest warrant for Devanna last week after his wife, Casey Devanna, was found dead in a room in a Milledge Avenue hotel. According a release from Public Information Officer Epifanio Rodriguez, the couple had been married for about a month. On August 27, 2017, housekeeping staff found Casey Devanna dead inside a hotel room at the Best Western Hotel.
