Home in 5 Meeting to Increase Awareness about Need for Foster Parents

A public forum aimed at increasing awareness of the need for foster parents in Athens and the surrounding area is planned for Thursday, October 19 in Loganville.

The Home-in-5 public-private partnership is holding the forum for community leaders, educators, business owners, and individuals, who are interested in learning more about ways to support foster parents and youth in foster care.

Susie Weller is Executive Director of Children First, which is involved with the program.

“So folks can out and learn about the need for children in foster care, hear from foster parents and foster youth," Weller said.  "There’s going to be a panel discussion, ways for people to help out and you can meet everybody."

The forum is Thursday night at 6:30 at Uniting Hope 4 Children at 1949 Highway 81 in Loganville.

Home in 5 is working to make a difference in Region 5 of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services,. That includes, Barrow, Clarke, Jackson, Madison, Oconee, and Oglethorpe counties.
