Athens Transit to "Stuff a Bus" for Food Bank of Northeast Georgia

Weeks after a coalition including UGA, Grady Collge, UGA Athletics, and COX Media stuffed trucks at Wal-Marts in Athens during Hunger Bowl 2017, Athens residents have another opportunity to give.

Athens transit is hoping to pull off a similar feat by “Stuffing a Bus” for Christmas. ATS needs donations of unexpired canned foods to fill a transit bus with items for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. The decorated bus will be parked at various locations around the city next week. The items will be used to help provide meals to area families during the holiday season. Each time donors drop off canned items, they will receive a ticket to enter to win a “Stuff the Bus” prize. The first location for the bus will be the Wal-Mart on Lexington road on Monday, December 11 from 10 am to 6 pm.

If TSPLOST 2023 passes in May, buses like this could be replaced by electric vehicles.
