Operation Imagination Campaign to Provide Books to Children in Clarke and Oconee Counties

Time is running out for anyone looking for a unique Christmas gift and a way to support area children at the same time. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is holding its annual Operation Imagination Christmas through tomorrow. Julie Farmer is Director of Education with the United Way of Northeast Georgia, which is the library’s local partner.

“This Christmas we are running an Operation Imagination Campaign, where we are inviting individuals to sponsor one or more children on behalf of or in honor of someone they love” Farmer said. “It’s an alternative Christmas gift that you can give someone you love and by spending $31 you will be providing 12 books into the hands of one child in our community."

To donate, visit www.unitedwaynega.org/education. You can also send a check to the United Way at: 1 Hunting Rd., Ste 805, Athens, GA 30606.

Please designate if you would like to give for DPIL in Oconee County or Clarke County. Each child receives one book each month for a year.
