ACCPD

A suspect connected with the killing of Saheed Snow was arrested and charged with murder on Tuesday at around 4:30 p.m.

22-year-old David Rojas Garcia was located by Athens-Clarke County police at a residence off Hanover Place in West Athens.

Police issued a warrant for his arrest on Monday following an interaction between Snow and Garcia that left Snow with fatal gunshot wounds.

Officers had responded to a report of gunshots in the 500 block of East Carver Drive at around 8 p.m. Monday evening. Snow was discovered in a parking lot near Apartment 577 and transported by EMS to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses say that Snow entered a car occupied by David Rojas Garcia and a second unidentified suspect. Snow was shot and pulled out by one of the car’s occupants.

Detectives are still working to identify the second suspect

Police say the vehicle the second suspect fled in was described as possibly a 2008 Chevy Cobalt or Malibu. Anyone with information is asked contact Detective Kim Johnson at 706-613-3340 extension 331 or Detective Paul Johnson at extension 522.
