A trio of Athens nonprofits is gearing up for a major fundraiser. The Over the Edge event supports Children First, Nancy Travis Childcare Project, and Interfaith Hospitality Network. Susie Weller is Executive Director with Children First.
“We’re looking for people to go over the edge for us, which is repelling,” Weller said. “It’s safe, it’s a national organization that runs these fundraisers so it will not be me holding the rope. Don’t worry. We’re looking for edgers, we’re looking for sponsors to come out, food sponsors, as well as people who want to support our mission.”
Children First is holding a Launch Party Tuesday, June 12 at 6 pm at their Pope Street facility.
