St. Mary’s Ranked in Top 10 Percent of Rehab Facilities Nationwide

St. Mary’s Center for Rehabilitative Medicine was ranked in the top 10 percent of rehab facilities nationwide, according to the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation.

The facility provides physical, occupational and speech-language therapy to help people recover from their debilitating conditions for three hours a day, six days a week.

“Our Center for Rehabilitative Medicine helps people recover from a wide range of debilitating conditions,” said Mark Ralston, public relations manager for St. Mary’s. “Everything from strokes and trauma, such as accidents, to cardiac procedures, even major joint replacement surgeries.”

USDMR’s rankings examine each facility’s case mix and patient severity to establish a performance score and ranking for the facilities. It ranks nearly three-quarters of all inpatient rehab facilities in the country.

“What that means is that we’re able to discharge more of our patients to home sooner and at a higher level of function than 90% of similar facilities across the U.S.,” Ralston said. “So, it’s really significant for our patients and for St. Mary’s.”

The rehabilitative center provides 24/7 nursing and medical care.
