Federal report says few schools are testing for lead in drinking water

The Flint water crisis reawakened health professionals and the public to the dangers of lead, and now a new federal report suggests kids may be ingesting lead through the drinking water at their schools.

In fact the report revealed that fewer than half of U.S. school districts test their drinking water for lead. But despite low testing, more than a third of schools that do test found elevated levels of lead in their water.
