The GBI is working with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office on a homicide investigation. According to a media release, the Jackson County 911 center received a call for medical help at Adams Motor Sports in Braselton.
When EMS arrived, they found the owner 32-year old Eric Adams unresponsive on the floor. He was taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville where he was pronounced dead. Medical staff noticed injuries consistent with a gunshot wound and called law enforcement.
Adams’ body was taken to the GBI Crime lab where an autopsy was performed. His death was ruled a homicide. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Jackson County Anonymous Tip Line at 706-367-3784.
The criminal investigation is being worked jointly by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI with assistance from the Braselton Police Department and the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.
