Jackson County Sheriff's Office Investigating Suspicious Person Near Children Waiting for School Bus

The Jackson County Sheriff’s office is investigating a report of a suspicious person where children were waiting for a school bus. According to a media release from Sheriff Janis Mangum, at around 7:15 Tuesday morning, a suspicious person pulled into a driveway on Harris Lord Cemetery Road where children were waiting for the school bus.

The victims said the driver pulled in to a driveway, passed their house, stopped in the road, turned, stuck his head out the window and looked at the children, then pulled into their driveway. They ran into their house. The driver stayed there until the bus arrived. There are reports the driver has been by their house several times before, but never stopped.

The vehicle is described as a silver, mid-sized, 4-door mercury sedan.
