The Winterville Tree Board is hosting its third annual Winterville Tree Tour, and the public is invited out for a free educational stroll on April 27 to learn more about the local flora.
Professor Scott Merkle of the University of Georgia's Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources will be leading the tour, which focuses on tree species identification.
Free refreshments and raffle prizes will also be part of the event.
The tour begins at the Winterville Train Depot and will be held "light rain or shine" from 4 to 6 p.m.
