The University of Georgia student who was shot during an armed robbery Monday morning has been identified as 22-year old Tate Prezanno, according to multiple media reports.

Prezzano is a member of UGA’s Lacrosse team. According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, Prezanno was waiting at a bus stop around 7:17 Monday morning when he was shot by the gunman. Police say this was the second armed robbery within a few minutes of another that happened a short distance away, in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Milledge Place.

That victim, also a UGA student, was robbed at gunpoint but not injured.

Authorities said Prezanno sustained ‘life-threatening’ injuries. He remains in an Athens hospital.

Police released a sketch of the suspect wanted in connection with that shooting.
