The third annual Vic Chesnutt Songwriter of the Year Award event was held Thursday night at the Foundry with singer-songwriter Lydia Brambila taking home the prize.
Lydia received a $1,000 prize, studio recording time, courtesy of Amplify/Nuci's Space, and a month of publicity and radio promotion campaign, courtesy of #teamclermont and owners Bill Benson and Nelson Wells.
The Vic Chesnutt Songwriter of the Year Award honors Athens-area artists and is named for the iconic Athens songwriter. The contest is produced by the Rotary Club of the Classic City of Athens.
