Lawsuit Targets Hotels Accused of Supporting Sex Trafficking

Four unidentified sex trafficking survivors have filed lawsuits against four Atlanta area hotels accused of supporting the illegal activity.

News outlets report the lawsuit filed Monday says traffickers paid hotel employees to serve as lookouts for when police were called or other guests got suspicious.

A news release from attorneys Patrick McDonough and Jonathan Tonge of law office Anderson, Tate & Carr says one woman was beaten in Chamblee after she sought help from an employee who then informed the trafficker of her intent to escape.

The release includes a photo from a Smyrna hotel lobby with a sign reading, "no refunds after 15 minutes." The policy allegedly encouraged quick commercial sex acts without paying for a room.
