Clarke Student Accused of Making Terroristic Threats at School

An Athens high school student is accused of making Terroristic Threats during class.

According to a media release from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, a Clarke County School District Student became distressed during class and made a verbal threat that referenced a weapon.

The student was removed from the classroom and administrators were made aware of the threat.

The student was disciplined according to the district’s Code of Conduct. A letter explaining the incident was sent to parents at the school.

The incident was investigated by the ACCPD’s Criminal Investigations Division. The department then issued a juvenile complaint for Terroristic Threats for the student.

The department encourages families to discuss the dangers of weapons and the use of threatening language in school.
