As Thanksgiving break approaches, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department hand delivered flyers to residents about preventing burglaries and crimes during the holiday.
They recommend:
- lock doors and windows
- close curtains and blinds
- install and turn on outdoor lights
- keep valuables out of sight
- arrange for mail to be held at post office
- install surveillance system
