Free Legal Assistance at Access to Justice Initiative Pop-Up Clinic on Sat.

Athenians in need of legal assistance can attend a free clinic this weekend. The Superior Court judges of the Western Circuit are holding an Access to Justice Initiative Free Pop-Up Clinic Saturday, February 22nd.

The mission of the clinic is to provide access to legal services and information for community members who need legal aid.

The February clinic will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Old West Broad Street on Saturday, February 22nd, from 9 am until 11 am.

Attorneys will hold brief consultations on topics including family law, immigration law, expungement/record restriction, employment law, criminal law, landlord/tenant law, and more.

Since the program started in December 2017, attorneys have donated over $50,000 in time and talent at the clinics. In 2019, nearly 500 people visited the pop-up clinics.

For more information about the Access to Justice Pop-up Clinics, contact Elizabeth Yates, Athens-Clarke County Court Administrator, at 706-613-3161 or elizabeth.yates@accgov.com.
