Georgia Cases of COVID-19 Top 2000

The most recent numbers of confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been released by the Georgia Department of Public Health. The state now has just over 2,000 cases, with 566 people hospitalized with the infection and there have been 64 deaths in Georgia. Locally, Clarke County has 32 cases, Oconee 10, Barrow 6, Madison 3, and Jackson County has 2.

Fulton County has 307 cases, followed by Dougherty with 193., DeKalb has 181, Cobb 144 and Gwinnett County is now among those in the state with over 100 cases with 102.

People aged 18 to 59 have 57% of the cases, those 60 and older have 34%, in 8% of the cases the ages are not known and those 17 and under comprise 1% of Georgia’s cases.

The breakdown by sex shows 49% are female, 46% male and 5% unknown.

Commercial labs have tested 8,119 cases to find 1,739 positives and the GPHL has found 262 positive cases out of 1,746 tests.

The numbers are updated twice daily by the DPH at its COVID-19 Daily Status Report.
