Cases of COVID-19 in Georgia

The most recent update in the number of COVID-19 cases is in. The Georgia Department of Public Health says there are 2,809 cases in the state with 87 deaths. 707 people are hospitalized as a result of the infection. There have been five deaths in Clarke County in 41 cases. Oconee County has 11 cases with no deaths, Barrow County has seven cases and two deaths, Madison has three cases and no deaths, Jackson has two cases with no deaths.

Fulton County leads the state in the number of infections with 463 and 14 deaths, DeKalb has 281 cases, three deaths, Dougherty 257 cases with 17 deaths and Cobb County has 245 cases and nine deaths.

57% of the cases are in people age 18 to 59, 35% in those 60 and older, with 7% of cases in which the ages are unknown and just 1% of cases in those 17 and younger.

In the breakdown according to sex, females comprise 49% of cases, males 48% and the sex is unknown in the remaining 3%.

Commercial Labs have tested 10,671 cases to find 2,507 positive cases, while the GPHL has tested 1,895 people with 302 positives.
