COVID-19 Cases in Georgia

The Georgia Department of Public Health says the state now has 5,444 confirmed cases of COVID-19. More than 11-hundred of those infected are hospitalized and there have been 176 deaths across the state. Fulton County continues to lead the state in number of case with 747 and 23 deaths, the most in the state.  That’s followed by Dougherty County which has 521 cases and 30 deaths. DeKalb has 409 cases and 8 deaths, Cobb has 341 cases, 17 deaths and Gwinnett County has 303 cases with 8 deaths.  

Locally, Clarke County has 55cases, 7 deaths, Barrow County has 20 cases, 2 deaths, Oconee County 19 cases, no deaths, Jackson County 11 cases, no deaths, Madison County 5 cases, one death and Oglethorpe County has one case, one death.

Nearly 23,000 tests have been performed. People aged 18 to 59 make up the bulk of the cases with 58%, those age 60 and older comprise 36% of the state’s cases, while the age is unknown in five percent of cases and just one percent of positives are in people 17 and under.
