Some Clarke County businesses may be able to apply for assistance through the Save Small Business Fund, which provides grants of up to $5,000. To qualify a business must employee between 3 and 20 people, be located in an economically vulnerable area-which Athens-Clarke county zip codes qualify, and have been financially harmed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Business owners can apply or find out more information at savesmallbusiness.com. The application process requires a W-9 form. Grants will be awarded on a weekly basis, but only one application is needed to be eligible for funding.
The short-term relief for qualifying businesses is due to an initiative from the U. S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation .
