ACC Transit To Resume Charging Fees For Travel

Athens-Clarke County Transit

Athens Clarke County Transit will resume charging fees for travelling by bus on July 15th. The change comes as a part of Athens Clarke County Unified Government’s Fiscal Year 2021 Budget.

Beginning in January of 2021, free weekend and evening travel will resume. Until then, ACC Transit will only be fare free for youth eighteen and under, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, Athens-Clarke County employees, and UGA staff and students.

Single ride bus tickets cost $1.75 for adults. ACC Transit buses accept cash, and single and multi-ride bus passes can be purchased at the Multimodal Center at 775 E. Broad Street and on smartphones using the Token Transit App.

In accordance with the declaration of a local emergency by the Mayor and Commission on July 7th, travellers are now required to wear face masks while riding with ACC Transit. Youth ten years of age and under as well as those with underlying conditions are not required to wear a mask. Reusable cloth masks will be available on buses while supplies last.
