Georgia's COVID-19 Cases Continue to Increase

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency reported 3,394 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Georgia, bringing total cases to 123,963. There were another 28 fatalities Tuesday, bringing the total number of deaths due to the virus to 3,054. 

Hospitalizations for confirmed coronavirus cases are currently at twenty-six thousand. About 61% of the state’s total ER beds are now in use. 84% of critical care beds are occupied, and 83% of general inpatient beds are also occupied. There remains a 60% availability for adult ventilators.

The counties with the greatest increase in cases Tuesday are Gwinnett, Fulton, and DeKalb. In Athens-Clarke County, the number of cases has now topped 1000.
