Caroline Aiken on Vic Chesnutt Songwriter Seminar and Workshop Series

Vic Chesnutt Songwriter of the Year Award.

The Vic Chesnutt Songwriter Award Committee is launching an inaugural seminar and workshop series for songwriters in all genres of music. Three veteran songwriters will serve as the first instructors. They are Marc Anthony Thompson- Chocolate Genius, Jim White and the Grammy-nominated Caroline Aiken.

“I’ll be working with the Vic Chesnutt Workshop in January, I’ll be one of three instructors and I’m so excited to kick off the inaugural workshop,” according to Aiken. “I think this is the first of many, I’m hoping, that will bring in instructors from all around the country hopefully.”

The virtual series offers different options and levels of participation. Students will be encouraged and assisted in writing at least one original song and may write a song with other class members and the instructor.

“The first day is a seminar and it is unlimited. Anyone can come to the seminar on Zoom and there will be three instructors and a facilitator and that is open to the public.”

For more information, about the seminar, workshop series and fees, visit VicChestnutAward.com. The deadline to register is January 1, 2021. The series begins January 7, 2021.
