The Biden administration has extended the national eviction moratorium for another 30 days.
The moratorium was set to expire on June 30th but will now expire on July 31st. This is expected to be the last time the administration extends the eviction moratorium.
Originally put in place last September, the eviction moratorium is meant to help tenants struggling to pay rent through the pandemic and prevent a wave of evictions.
Locally, Athens-Clarke County Commissioners voted to move ahead with an eviction relief program called project RESET. It’s similar to relief programs that have been successful in places like Gwinnett County.
