Athens residents interested in helping to shape community plans are getting a chance to do so. The Athens-Clarke County government is seeking to fill positions on seven policy-making boards.
Length of service ranges from a partial term on the ACC Library Board, to five years on the Division of Family and Children’s Services Board. Applicants must be Clarke County residents and incumbents may reapply. For more details about each board, commission or authority, visit www.accgov.com. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 9th.
List of positions and terms:
- One position on the Athens-Clarke County Library Boardfor a partial term expiring December 31, 2024.
- Two positions on the Athens Downtown Development Authority for a term of two years. One position must be filled by a downtown business owner and one position must be filled by a downtown property owner.*
- One position on the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Region 2 Advisory Council for a term of three years.*
- One position on the Development Authority of the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County for a term of four years.
- Four positions on the Division of Family and Children Services Board. Three positions are for terms of five years, one position is for a partial term expiring June 30, 2024.*
- One position on the Hearings Board for a term of four years.
- Four positions on the Vision Committee. Three positions are for terms of three years; one position is for a partial term expiring June 30, 2022.*
