Athens-Clarke County reaches 170 new COVID cases today, the highest since January 9th. Neighboring Jackson and Oconee Counties recorded 95 and 35 new cases respectively, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health. All three counties are experiencing a continued upward trend.
With this, hospital beds continue to fill. Region E hospitals, which includes Jackson, Athens-Clarke, and Oconee Counties, has filled 93% of inpatient beds and 97% of ICU beds. Ventilators are at 71% occupied.
ACC vaccination rates remain at 41%, Jackson at 37% and Oconee at 53%.
