In January, the Athens Cultural Affairs Commission (ACAC) announced plans to name a Poet Laureate for Athens.
The Poet Laureate is a new program funded and administered by the ACAC. The Poet Laureate position is a way to promote poetry and poets within our community.
Late last month, UGA graduate Jeff Fallis, a lecturer at Georgia College and State University, became the very first Athens Poet Laureate.
