Governor Brian Kemp holds a 32 point lead over challenger David Perdue in the Georgia Republican primary race according to a new poll conducted for FOX News. Sixty percent of republican voters prefer Kemp, 28 percent for Perdue, with 6 percent for Kandiss Taylor.

Kemp led Perdue by just 11 percent back in March. The poll noted that only 37 percent of GOP voters surveyed said former president Trump’s endorsement of Perdue makes them more supportive of the former senator.

The most important ballot box issue for the Republican voters polled was their candidate's ability to win against presumptive Democratic nominee Stacey Abrams in November. In contrast, only a quarter of respondents said that having a nominee who strongly supports former President Donald Trump was important to them.

Early voting has been underway in Georgia for over two weeks, and among voters who have already cast a ballot, the poll indicates that some 60 percent cast their vote for Kemp, compared to just 28 percent for Perdue.

In the contested GOP Senate primary, former UGA football standout Herschel Walker seems likely to win the nomination and run against incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock. Walker has two-thirds of the polled voters on his side, compared to 8 percent support for his closest rival, Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black.
