With hundreds of flights canceled over the weekend, ATL airport officials brace for lots of travelers today

Hundreds of flights were canceled at Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson International Airport over the Memorial Day weekend.

Atlanta-based carrier Delta alone canceled more than 100 departures at the airport Saturday because of storms in the northeast, along with 77 flights on Sunday and 45 more on Monday.

In addition to weather related cancellations, adequate staffing continues to be a problem for Delta and other airlines. Delta had the most flight cancellations of any U.S. airline over the holiday weekend. Tuesday will be another busy day for travel, with more than 285,000 passengers expected to pass through the Atlanta airport.

Because of long security lines at Hartsfield Jackson, airport officials are advising passengers to get to the airport at least two and a half hours before their flights.
