Students at Cedar Shoals High School are back in the classroom today, after a small fire closed the school yesterday.
A media release from the school district yesterday reported that a small fire in a restroom triggered the school's sprinkler systems and that smoke filled parts of the building. District officials believe the fire was set deliberately.
Students in the building were first evacuated to safe areas, then sent home to learn remotely.
On Wednesday evening, the district confirmed that classes would resume in person today. Some classes will be moved to parts of the campus not affected by water and smoke until repairs are complete.
