The Georgia Bulldogs remain on top of the AP college football poll this week after a 37 – 14 win over Georgia Tech. UGA’s retention of the top spot is the one bit of consistency in a top ten that saw a lot of changes after a chaotic college football weekend.

Michigan comes in at number 2, after a lopsided win over Ohio State, followed by TCU at number 3 and USC at number 4. Ohio State fell to number 5, while Alabama jumped two spots to number 6. Tennessee, Penn State, Washington, and Clemson round out the top ten.

Following Georgia’s game against in-state rival Georgia Tech on Saturday, head coach Kirby Smart had praise for the fans.

"I thought there were some lulls in the game at times, and some sleepwalking through it, and that always scares you<" Smart told reporters at a postgame press conference. "And I thought our fans kind of pushed us over the edge for some momentum."

Quarterback Stetson Bennett told reporters after the game that, while the win over Georgia Tech puts the bow on an undefeated regular season, the team is looking ahead.

"We didn't come into the season trying to go 12 and 0," Bennett said. "We tried to go 15 to know and we've got another step ahead of us next week in Atlanta against a really good football team in LSU."

Kickoff for the SEC Championship Game, where Georgia will face off against number 11 LSU, is at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The final college football playoff rankings, which determine which four teams will make the playoffs, come out on December 4.
