After winning two games, including one that featured the biggest comeback in program history, and losing in the final game, the UGA women’s basketball team still came out on top in the Paradise Jam tournament over the holiday weekend.

The team first faced off against Wisconsin on Thanksgiving Day in a game that saw the Lady Bulldogs claw their way back from a 20-point deficit to beat the Badgers 68 – 60.

Down by as much as 20 points to Wisconsin on Thanksgiving Day, Georgia came back and beat the Badgers 68 – 60, outscoring Wisconsin 45 – 27 in the second half, and allowing just 5 points in the fourth quarter.

UGA followed that win with a 68 – 54 win over VCU on Friday. In that matchup, five Georgia players scored in double digits.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs faced off against Seton Hall in the tournament’s final game, coming up short in an 86 – 80 offensive shootout. Despite the loss, Georgia still came home as the winner of the tournament, based on the point differential in its games.

There were bright spots in the Seton Hall game as well. Forward Brittney Smith put 18 points on the board, pushing her past the 1,000 point mark in her career.

The Bulldogs face off at home against Furman on Thursday.
