Republican U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is proving to be the most prolific campaign fundraiser by far among Georgia’s congressional delegation. The conservative raised $1.7 million toward her bid for a third term in the House during the first half of this year, according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission.
This dwarfs the $604,000 raised during the first six months of 2023 by Republican Rep. Drew Ferguson, of West Point, the closest total to Greene’s. Rep. David Scott of Atlanta was the top fundraiser during the same period among Georgia’s Democratic House members, bringing in just over $403,000.
Democrat Sanford Bishop of Albany, who is the longest serving lawmaker in the Georgia delegation, raised $386,000. Among area congressmen, 10th District representative Mike Collins raised $202,000, and the 9th District representative raised $129,000.
