The third annual Above Athens Balloon Festival will be held on Sep. 30 at Sandy Creek Park from 3pm-8:30pm, according to the Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department.
Attendees can enjoy an up-close look and explore the inside of hot air balloons. Tethered balloon rides will cost $25 a person (cash only) and are subject to weather conditions. Food trucks and free children’s activities will also be featured at the event.
The event will conclude with a balloon glow after the sun sets. Attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs.
There is no admission fee for the event. Pets are not allowed.
