The largest credit rating agency in the United States gave Georgia the highest credit rating possible, known as AAA. WUGA’s Mary Ryan Howarth has more:

According to their analysis Georgia “generated a multi-billion operating surplus,” for its third year, while maintaining strong reserve balances, and keeping the debt burden “low to moderate.”

Governor Brian Kemp announced the S&P Global Rating on Monday in Naples, Italy, as he visits the country to maintain business partnerships.

Mary Ryan Howarth is a recent graduate from the University of Georgia. She started as an intern at WUGA and quickly became a part-time reporter and producer. She also contributes to Athens News Matters and the Georgia Health Report. Some of Mary Ryan's interests include reading, arts and crafts, and running her podcast with her mom, HowARTh Gallery Gossip.
