The University of Georgia has introduced its first strategic enrollment management plan since 2007, aiming to maintain high-quality student experiences amid record application numbers. This fall, UGA will welcome around 6,200 first-year students from over 43,000 applicants, marking one of its largest academic classes.

The plan outlines the hiring of additional tenure-track faculty to keep pace with the growing student body and addresses infrastructure needs with a new parking deck, a 565-bed residence hall, and a dining, learning, and wellness center set for completion by fall 2026.

While online enrollment is projected to constitute only 4% of the total campus enrollment, the university also plans to expand its online graduate programs. Additional graduate students will support the expansion of the university’s research enterprise, including more opportunities for doctoral and post-doctoral students.

UGA will also increase transfer student enrollment, particularly from Georgia's rural areas, and expand the Transfer Pathway program to offer more opportunities for state residents.
