Clarke Middle School's Science, Energy, and Adventure Team (SEAT) has been honored with Georgia School of the Year and National Junior Level School of the Year accolades for their 2023-24 project. This summer, the team attended the 44th annual NEED Youth Energy Conference and Awards in Washington, D.C., where they further distinguished themselves by securing two additional awards: Best Presentation and Most Energy-efficient Design.

Guided by educators Audrey Hughes and Javan Winston, Clarke Middle School students dedicated the past school year to advancing environmental science and local conservation efforts. Their project, "Action and Advocacy for Energy Education and Sustainability," was recognized with the highest state and national honors by the NEED Project review panel. This marks the fourth consecutive year the school has achieved these accolades.
